Type F Blade

The Type-F doctor blade, U.S. patent number 4,895,071, is a custom two part blade that integrates the backup blade with the wiping blade to provide repeatable setups from one run to the next. An aerospace grade adhesive is used to fasten the 2 blades together. The likelihood of the blades splitting is very low.  The adhesive is compatible for all types of ink.  The Type-F blade is used in Gravure applications where a backup (or stiffening) blade is typically part of the system.  This type of blade has been very successful for water based ink applications when combined with special alloys.  Due to its unique design, these blades must be packaged flat.  Coil style packaging is not available.  If you would like to try out some of our Type-F blades, please download our Bonded Blade Questionnaire and Gravure Questionnaire and send them to a representative.
