Gravure

Benton Graphics has been impacting Gravure printing since it was founded in 1977. Benton is still the only manufacturer who can manufacture lamella-tipped Doctor Blades without grinding. In 1987 the Type-F Bonded Blade (patent #4,895,071) debuted. Along with our complete line of Gravure blades, we also offer specialty Pressroom Accessories such as the ARS Doctor Blade Scope, FlipCheck™ Goniometer, and Blade Guard.

 

 

Type A

Chemically reduced step provides a consistent wiping edge and a large useful area of the doctor blade. Tip thickness is customized for the application.

 

 

Type B

Single-beveled edge allows for immediate metering. Bevels are available from 20 to 60 degrees.

 

 

Type C

Chemically reduced step is smaller than Type-A, yielding added stiffness. Tip thickness is customized for the application.

 

 

Type E

Mechanically slit blade provides a square edge. This blade does not have a smooth edge and is not recommended for doctoring, but can be used as a backup or stiffening blade.

 

 

Type F
