Foam Seal Blades

Benton Graphics is licensed to produce Foam Seal Doctor Blades under U.S. patent number 5,524,540. Foam Seal Doctor Blades are recommended for use in PCMC NT chambers. You can use also use this product in other chambers if the blade seat areas are damaged, nicked, or not well maintained. As job lengths decrease, press crews are becoming more efficient at changeovers. Cleaning the doctor blade seat area is a time consuming job that unfortunately gets overlooked or put off. Not cleaning the seat area on a regular basis can result in an accumulation of dried ink. These problems create ripples in the doctor blade. Rippled doctor blades require additional loading pressure to meter properly. The result of more pressure is lower angles and faster doctor blade wear.
The Foam Seal also prevents ink migration under the doctor blade on many enclosed chambers with high pressure or high flow wash-up systems. The Foam Seal can be applied to all materials and edge types
